I have found some information and that doesn't make sense.
The Marriage Records for San Jacinto Co, TX states that Jacob MOODY married Luella ALSOBROOKS on 18 Feb 1914. I had also been told this and that after Jacob's death she married to Houston.
In the court records dealing with the guardianship of Henry MOODY (my grandfather) it mentions Nellie MOODY, second wife of Jacob MOODY.
I found the widow Nellie MOODY listed in the 1920 census of Harris Co, TX with her children.
I then found Nellie listed with her first husband William LUM in the 1900 and 1910 censuses of Liberty Co, TX. She was born Dec. 1875, TX.
1910 census the father-in-law of William LUM, T.C. CRANE, listed in the household.
Thomas CRANE is listed in the 1880 census of Hopkins Co, TX. His daughter Nellie is also in the same household.
So it really appears that Jacob MOODY's second marriage was to Nellie CRANE, but the record says Luella ALSOBROOKS. Are they the same person and why teh difference in name?
