William Christopher "Willy" Nations
Posted by: Willis Bodine (ID *****3487) Date: November 27, 2010 at 11:55:27

Seeking information about the San Augustine County TX life and family of William Christopher "Willy" Nations in the late days of the Republic of Texas. Apparently Nations moved to SA in 1837 from TN with his wife Sally and eleven children. He was probably the "Williams Nations" killed on August 10, 1839, along with John Bodine (my GGGgrandfather), in a gun battle over land boundaries north of San Augustine close to Bland Lake. Sally Nations died a year later, but their son Obediah Nations married Julia Lout, the granddaughter of John Bodine, in SA in 1848. Nancy Bodine administered the Pinkney Lout and John Bodine estates until 1863, so she must have been close to them all.

Any local information about these people will be appreciated.
