This is ten years after your post, so I'm hoping you're still interested in this. I have a Mary Simmons, who was my great grandmother, that according to my grandfather's burial documents was born in Biloxi, Ms, date unknown. She was married to Robert George Whitton, again, according to the burial documents, born in Alabama. They apparantly were in San Augustine, TX in 1894, when my grandfather, Robert Frank Whitton was born. George Robert may have died around 1900, as Mary Simmons married Walter McBride 23 Oct 1901 in San Augustine, TX. I have a Mary Simmons, living with Francis Simmons in Natchitoches, LA, in 1880 Census, says she was born in MS; 1900 census says she was born in LA. Do you have any info on the Simmons/Whitton connection?
