Hext family, East Texas/Louisiana 1890's-1910

The information I have on this side of my family is very sketchy. My maternal grandfather was Rev. Joe Hext. He was born July 21, 1904 and died January 6, 1979. We are not sure, but we think his given name might have been William Joseph or Joseph William. All we have on paper is simply Joe. His father went by the name of Louis Hext. This may or may not be the H L Hext I found in the marriage index. The only siblings I am sure of that he had were Louis Hext (maybe junior), Fannie Hext, and Catherine Hext. All I know about the family is that my grandfather remembered crossing the Sabine River into Louisiana when he was very small. Any information given would be greatly appreciated even if it's a long shot. I keep running into dead ends.
