Thanks, Helen. I have never been able to prove the manner of death of Wm. C. McDonald. One branch of the family says Jayhawkers, and another says he was killed by "men on the other side" in the Civil War - that he was hanged over a well, and that one of his sons was killed as well. No proof either way.
