Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Telling us how many greats fit your ancestor doesn't tell us when they might have been born. So, without that date I'm not sure I found your Simon, maybe you or your family will reconize some of these names.

1880 census Rusk Co, TX:

Category: Name; Relationship to head of household; Marital Status; Gender; Race; Age; Birthplace; Occupation; Father's Birthplace; Mother's Birthplace.

John BLANTON Self M Male MU 33 GA Farm Laborer GA GA
Lucinda BLANTON Wife M Female B 31 GA Keeps House GA GA
Simon BLANTON Son S Male B 14 TX Farm Laborer GA GA
John BLANTON Son S Male B 12 TX Farm Laborer GA GA
Mina BLANTON Dau S Female B 10 TX GA GA
Chapman BLANTON Son S Male B 8 TX GA GA
Edgar BLANTON Son S Male B 6 TX GA GA
Glenn BLANTON Son S Male B 4 TX GA GA
Pass BLANTON Son S Male B 2 TX GA GA

Do you know the maiden name of Victoria? Is Gadson/Gatson the married name for Irene?

Happy Hunting (^_^)
