Thank you for your reply. I am aware that Wiley Rogers was a mounted gunman in 1838. I believe he may have returned to Texas to deal with the land he received for his service in the Texas Revolution. I do have his papers and land grant for that service. He did not choose to live in Texas, but moved his family from Al to AR.
I would like to have him accepted by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, but they are not sure this is the same man who fought with a GA unit. I have papers ready to send them showing Wiley was married in GA, owned property in GA, and all his children were born there. I hope this is proof enough have him accepted on their rolls.
