I am looking for information concerning my gr gr grandfather's brother James W. Windle, he was born in Overton Co. TN in 1829. He moved to TX with his Father John A. Windle. James shows up on the 1850 census with his father's family. I know he was a veteran of the Mexican war and served with his brother John William in Smith's Co. 1st Texas Mounted Volunteers. James drops off record after the 1850 census. James like his brother maybe of mixed blood anglo and Native American, their mother was believe to be Native American.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Russell L Windle
