On the 1900 census for Rusk county, my great grandfather is listed as a patient on a roster of patients at the "Rusk Hospital for the Insane". I was wondering if anyone in the area is familiar with this facility, was it ever part of the VA hospital, is it still around (I am sure it would be listed by another name by now, or at least I hope!) Any info that anyone has would be great. My grandma (his daughter, says he did have a nervous condition when she was a child but her sister insists he was in a VA hospital.
