GEE, Philip 1860 occupation
Posted by: Marlene Lawley (ID *****3063) Date: May 03, 2004 at 10:24:04

Does anyone know what occupation was "M.B." back in 1860? Any suggestions?

Philip GEE's occupation is listed as M.B.; his two 16-year-old sons were listed as "farm labour."

I also found him on an earlier (1850) census in Tallapoosa, AL with an undecipherable occupation (looked like Micu, Mucr, Mieu...?). He died before 1870, so I wasn't able to check his occupation there.

Philip GEE married Hulda COOK, daughter of Elias Green COOK and Martha B. PRAYTOR in Jefferson or St. Clair CO., AL around 1835; moved to TX about 1855.

TIA
Martie
