Don't know if they are connected....

If your family might originate from Louisiana you could be related to the Grays and Willis families. Willis was the founder of the Methodist church in Louisiana. There were a number of ties that I am still trying to figure out in the early mid 1800's.

I know many of the LA Gray's migrated into Texas after the civil war.
