Dorinda:
I read your message with interest. Mary Susan B. Turner who married Hiram Barton was the sister of my husband's ggrandfather.
We have been trying to prove that Mary's father, Rice Ross Turner is the son of Samuel Marshall Turner (which we are sure of) and Elmira Hawkins.
Hiram and Mary named one of their daughter Volonia Elmira and Mary had a sister named Volonda.
We just can't find any information on Elmira Hawkins. Family recollection is that she went (or returned) to England when Rice Ross was very young and never came back.
Would you have any information on the children/descendents of Hiram & Mary Susan, especially their daugther Volonia Elmira?
