I am kin to two different Parker familes that lived in Rusk Co. On my mother's side her greatgrandparents were James and Adrah (?) Parker. Both appear to be from North Carolina. James was killed during the Civil War or died as a result of it. (I have written for Adrah's widow's pension application) Their daughter, Mary Elmira Parker married Lucius Loring in Rusk Co. in January,1860 and they moved to Smith Co. In the 1920 Smith Co. census, Adrah is 88. I haven't found when she died. Mary Elmira died in Tyler, Smith Co TX in 1924.

On my dad's side his great-grandmother was Cordelianna S. Parker (In Wiley A. Parker's research she is listed as Cynthia Ann but all census information lists her as some form of Cordelia) Her father was Robert Foster Parker who came to Rusk Co. TX from Greene Co. GA. His family was in North Carolina before going to Georgia. Cordelia Ann married William James McLaren in Rusk Co. TX in 1855. In the 1860 Census they are living in Wood Co. TX near W. J. McLaren's Parents. The McLaren's were from TN.

Does either Parker family connect to your Parkers from Rusk Co.
