Dr. Hiram M. & Mahala Montgomery Crews 1900
Posted by: Cindy McLaughlin Date: March 17, 2002 at 10:02:48

Recent information indicates that Dr. Hiram Montgomery, my gg grandfather, moved to Crews just prior to his death in 1900, leaving widow, third wife, Mahala (maiden name unknown) with his two youngest sons Jim and George. Later in the same year, an older son of the Dr., Pleasant L. Montgomery and wife Mary Lucrecia brought their combined families to Crews as well. Here my grandmother met her future husband, J. W. Rainwater.
Although Dr. Montgomery is listed in funeral home records of the time, his burial place remains unknown.
I have heard from some wonderful people about my other posts. Hope to hear from others who may have info on Hiram M., Mahala, George or Jim Montgomery. Thanks.
