The "Rockwall County History" book mentions William Monroe and Virginia Catherine Chandler. It says they came to Texas in 1876 from Calloway Co. Virginia. They settled near Heath, TX (Rockwall County) and had Nettie Serilda (b. January 20, 1877). Info submitted by Kathryn Wilson Benton (Nettie's daughter).

And while I'm not an expert in Rockwall Co. history by any stretch of the imagination, I wouldn't be surprised if that's how "Chandlers Landing" got its name.
