1846 Robertson County Tax
Posted by: barbara dalberg (ID *****2514) Date: August 15, 2011 at 10:46:58

Does anyone know anything about the 1846 tax for Robertson County, Texas. My 2nd Grandmother Sarah Harrison and my 2nd Grandfather John R Lunsford were married there in Jan of 1846 by the famous Baptist minister Noah Byars. The thing is that Sarah was only 15 and yet is listed as being taxed while she was still Sarah Harrison. What would this tax have been based on? We do not know her parentage so could the Sarah Harrison taxed be her mother instead? I'd appreciate any information anyone may have. Thanks.
