I'm looking for info on William Alexander born Feb. 14, 1850 In Krunizca, Prussia, Poland who came to Bremond, Tx in the 1870's and married Mary Paszkiet, daughter of Michael and Josepha (Filut) Paszkiet. The Paszkiet family is listed as one of the founders of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bremond. William Alexander died July 14, 1939 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bremond, Texas. He changed his name when he emigrated from Poland. Some of his children's baptism records have Valentin Alexander, some have William Alexander. William & Mary's first child was born in 1889 and died at the age of 7 months. Their second child, Martin Alexander(1890-1973)is our line. Martin married Apolonia Rekieta and they raised their family in Bremond. Apolonia died in 1934. I have found 2 dates for William Alexander's birth - Feb. 14, 1850 and June 14, 1851. Records indicate he sailed on the Ship Elba and arrived in 1881 from Bremen to Baltimore Maryland. Not sure if this data is correct. Would like to know William Alexander' original name, his birthdate, where he came from and when he got here, his parents names and if he actually is polish and why the name change. Could someone check the 1880 and 1890 census and see if he is listed? William and Mary had several children - 8 in all, - Martin, Frances, Pete, John Alexander are among their children. Also could someone check St. Mary's marriage records in Bremond and see if there is a marriage certificate for William and Mary and the date of the marriage. Hopefully, someone from around Bremond knows of this family. Thanks for your help. Please email me at
