Barbara and Nan ~

I'm researching Margaret "Maggie" Allison Cox Smith, Justice of the Peace for a friend who is her grandson. J. A. Cox, also Justice of the Peace was Maggie's father. Maggie was married to James Eclar Smith, a Baptist pastor. Are there any records to research for Maggie?

Barbara, you said you were writing a book about early women judges in Texas. Have you finished/published the book? I'm sure my friend would be interested in this book.

Maggie was(b)July 27, 1882,(d)Aug. 29, 1953 and is buried in the Franklin Cemetery.

Nancy Stewart,
