Seeking further information on THOMAS JEFFERSON DAVIS and/or his descendants. He was b. April 5, 1818 in MS, son of WILLIAM and SARAH (JENNINGS) DAVIS. He was md. three times: (1) SARAH ANN KELLY (2) ELIZABETH SHORT (3)Mrs. MARY FRANCES BRASHER (nee WILSON), widow of SEYMOUR BRASHER of Brazos Co., TX.

THOMAS J. DAVIS migrated from Hinds Co., MS to Brazos Co., TX ca. 1868. He and his 3rd wife, MARY FRANCES, had moved to Kosse, Limestone Co., TX before 1880, where they are enumerated in the census. He was a dentist.

His third wife, MARY FRANCES, was probably a dau. of JOHN DEPORT WILSON, originally from Coosa Co., AL. A tombstone marker in the Bremond City Cemetery, Bremond, TX (Robertson Co.) indicates that "MARY F. DAVIS was born Dec. 11, 1833 and died Dec. 5, 1885." Bremond, TX is a short distance from Kosse, TX. She and DR. DAVIS had no children, however she had five children by her first husband, SEYMOUR BRASHER.

DR. DAVIS had a daughter by his second marriage to ELIZABETH SHORT that was named LUCY ANN DAVIS, though she is often listed in records as "ANNIE L." She was md. to JOHN BEDWELL HARRELL in MS and they evidently left MS for TX along with her father ca. 1868. They settled first in Bremond, TX for several years, then moved to Waco, McLennan Co.,TX. ANNIE HARRELL died May 8, 1918 and JOHN BEDWELL HARRELL died Sept. 11, 1919. Both are buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.

Does anyone have further information on DR. THOMAS JEFFERSON DAVIS ----- i.e., when and where he died, where buried, etc.? Please contact me. Glad to exchange further information.
