My father was born in Pecos in 1906. He ranched in the area all his life and collected a lot of things. I noticed a desk seal (embosses paper) that reads "Petrolia Grove No 1675 Petrolia, Tex" around a "W.C.". I thought this referred to a town north of Pecos along the river and I asked a lot of people and even searched some up that way with no luck. I came to the conclusion that the seal was for a Woodman Circle fraternal orgainization - the women's auxiliary of Woodsmen of the World who sold insurance. Since there was a Petrolia up near Wichita Falls, I came to think it might have come from there, but it never seemed right since my Dad would have little connection with that area. Have you found out any more? Based on your post I am going to renew my search for a Petrolia in Reeves County.
