If no one answers and it is worth $27 to you, you can write for his SSN application, which will tell you his full name, birth place, parents' names, address at the time and employer at the time. Click on "SS-5" in the first link. The second page has a link to order his death certificate, but it was broken just now.
I don't live in Reeves County, or in Texas for that matter. (I don't get a commission from the SSA or the Dept. of Vital statistics, either.) I don't see a lot of replies to posts on this forum. You might want to try something else.
