Seeking information on John Dickson, born about 1828 in Tennessee; in 1847 living in Calloway County, Kentucky, where he enlists in the US Army for service in the Mexican War; on 1850 Census located in Calloway County, KY; on 1860 Census located in Red River County, Texas, with wife Emily at age 23 and birthplace Kentucky, son Janes age 6 born in Kentucky, son John age 5 born in Lamar County, TX, daughter Martha age 2 born Lamar County, TX, and daughter Mancy age 3 months born in Red River County, TX; John may have enlisted in the Confederate army from Texas; on the 1880 Census the family is still located in Red River County, TX, and with more children; a John Dickson is listed as a charter member of the John C. Burkes Camp # 656 of the United Confederate Veterans, which was chartered in 1890. Would appreciate any information on John Dickson, especially his dates and places of birth, death and burial.
