At the beginning of the 20th century in Polk County, Jack Todd and wife Isey Mae McPike Todd had a farm on the west of Livingston along the Hwy 59 Loop where the new roadside park is now located. In early 1900s Isey Mae Todd was killed by a bolt of lighting from a storm coming up quick from the east. They had three children: Bunk Todd the son, Jeffie D and Mildred Todd the daughters. Jeffie D (or Peggy) Todd married Vernon McCarver and had Betty Ann McCarver and Vernon "Shot" McCarver Jr. Peggy later married Sam Hashaw, son of Tom Hashaw of Dodge, Texas and had Gene Hashaw. If you know the origins of the Todds or McPikes please let me know.
