Seems as if the old town site has washed away before the dam was built (1969), but it was not flooded by Lake Livingston, as I understand. The dam is just upstream of the old site. The old ferry was below the dam on Judge Baker's property.
There is still a town (hamlet) there, but it is on a low bluff at the east end of the dam and overlooks the lake. FM1988 goes through it. The Trinity River Authority has some offices there (they are in charge of the dam).
