JORDAN HENRY HUTTO, son of JACOB HUTTO and ELIZABETH GILLIAM.

It appears that he went by Henry most of his life. Married Eliza Jane Oates (widow of James Jackson Ward) in Henry co AL August 22 1844.

Henry never had any children of his own but raised Eliza's two children from her previous marriage, William and Ann Ward.

On the 1860 census, Henry and Eliza are enumerated in Polk co TX ... Ancestry has them indexas as "Hattoe". On that census, the "Hattoe's" are living at the residence of "A. Feagan".

A. Feagan's wife was Sarah Ann Hutto, sister to Jordan Henry Hutto.

You stated in your message that Jordan was a nephew to another HENRY HUTTO but I have no knowledge of this "Uncle Henry". I do know for certain that Jordan did have an uncle John A. Hutto because John was a twin brother to Jordan's father; both born in Orangeburg District SC Nov 17 1793.

The twins' parents were John Henry Hutto and Ann Zorn. John Henry Hutto had a brother named Charles Hutto (born Jan 25 1755 O. D. SC) and it is through one of Charles's grandsons (George Solomon Hutto Jr) that I am related through the Maddens, Moore's, Carnes', Bazzoon's, Gassiott's, Wiggin's, and Tipton's of Trinity county TX.

Hope some of this helps. Feel free to contact me with queries.

nate
