I found four old photographs several years ago in a box of BROCK family photographs, that I have been trying to identify. Two are Ambrotype photographs. These type photgraphs were made from 1854 to the 1860s. My first thought was that this was Mary Ann PEEBLES b.1840 and Green McKinnis BROCK b.1833. I now think that they might be Julia Ann BOONE b.1843, IN and her husband Thomas D. PACE b.1829. The reasons I am leaning that way are: 1. I received a picture of Mahala PEEBLES, the sister of Mary Ann PEEBLES. Mahala looks nothing like the picture. Doesn't prove that it isn't Mary Ann, but there is no family resemblence. 2. The tin type photo that I found at the same time was Myra PACE and her sister May PACE. I would date this photo around 1892. Myra married William Henry BROCK b.1866, TX. The box I found these pictures in was a box of BROCK photos, but these pictures were evidently saved by Myra (PACE) BROCK. 3. Instead of Mary Ann PEEBLES, I think that this picture is Myra's mother -- Julia Ann BOONE b.1843, IN. There is a strong resemblence between another picture of Myra taken around 1900 and the picture taken around 1865, who I think is her mother. 4. If Myra saved the pictue of her mother (Julia Ann BOONE), then she might have also saved the picture of her father (Thomas D. PACE). Would like to dialogue with anyone that might have additional insight. Dan Notify Administrator about this message?
