Rev. Reuben E. Brown

I am researching David Patillo WHITE and Celestia V. BROWN White. I believe that Reuben E. Brown, a Baptist preacher in Polk County circa 1855-1860?, was the father of Celestia. He organized the First Baptist Church in Livingston, and served as a missionary of the Bethelehem Baptist Association. Reuben and his wife Elizabeth are listed in the Polk County census in 1860. In 1870 David, Celestia and family are living in Polk County, and Elizabeth Brown is living with them. I believe this Reuben Brown is the same one that died in Galveston in 1864. I would like to confirm whether Reuben and Elizabeth are David P. White's in-laws. I think this would explain why they moved to Polk County. Later, probably after Elizabeth's death, they moved to Cherokee County, and are found in the censuses there until their deaths.

If this is correct, I think I can tie David and Celestia's marriage back to Barbour Co., Alabama in 1852. Of course, I would love to discover just when they moved to Texas. The dates of birth in varying censuses are confused by placing an important child as born in AL in one census and as born in TX in another census.

Thanks for any help.
