Searching For J. W. Pruitt "Jim Will" born Oct. 18th, 1855 died Oct. 29th, 1918 Miller Co., AR per 1900 Census, Polk Co. TX Census J. W. states he was born in Texas, His father was born in MS, and his mother was born in Texas. This may or may not be so. At this time I still do not know the names of g-grandfather J. W. Pruitt parents or siblings. So I looking for Mississippi roots and hoping some Pruitt cousin out there is looking for a Uncle J. W. Pruitt.......
I have I searched 1880 Texas till I am nearly BLIND. Was he in Polk Co., in 1880?? Was he one of America's wanted in 1880?? Is that why I can't find him?? In my Uncles Jack's memoirs he wasn't shy in hinting his grandfather J. W. Pruitt could swing on both sides of the law fortunately (?) JW was killed in saw mill accident rather swinging from a rope.

I know that J. W. was in Van Zandt Co., TX in 1885 where he married Rachel Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ramsey.

Thanks in advance for any information. Please email Linda Miles at dlmiles@neto.com
