There is really no sign of the area of the mines and the depot today. Camp Wolters was built and covered the area during WW II, Fort Wolters [changed to this] was expanded during the Vietnam War, for helicopter training. The last of the slag heaps dissappear at that time. In the 1970s you could see some on the south side of Hwy 180, where the WMW&NW RR crossed the Hwy, the slag was flatten for helicopters to practice landing and take offs. Today the RR is a Rails to Trails from Weatherford to Mineral Wells. At this crossing today is a Vietnam Memorial being built, access where the trails bridge crosses the highway.
