Thanks for your post - I am definately still interested. I have a little to add to your info.
Frances O'Bryant married James M. Sanders on January 23, 1855 in Medina Texas (Medina County Marriage Records Book D:52-53) They divorced about 1860 in Uvalde, Tx. James was awarded custody of their daughter Mary Elizabeth, but at some time Mary went to live with her Mother and William C. Campbell. I have stories that Mary married J. B. Hunter and moved to Kerr County, but I have no official record of that.
James M Sanders (born in Arkansas in 1831)was the son of Julius and Lucinda (Julius second wife) Sanders. The family moved to Uvalde County sometime in the 1840's.
James, his brothers Plesant, John and Robert, along with their Father Julius, all served in the Texas Rangers in the mid 1850's. James married Nancy Caroline Weaver on July 25, 1867 (Live Oak County Marriage Records - Vol 1, pg 72). They had two children - Ples Wiley Sanders (my Grandfather) and Martha Sanders. James was killed by accidental gunshot at their home south of Tilden, Tx on March 6, 1871, and he is buried in the Weaver family cemetary on a ranch in McMullen County.
My email is mman410@austin.rr.com. If you learn anything else, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much.
