Spruce McCoy Wood in Parker County 1880

I am desperately seeking information on Spruce McCoy Wood who was in Parker Co. in 1880. Spruce was born ca 1817 TN, married # 1. Nancy Parsley 1843 in MO and had two children, James b. 1845 and Charles b 1848

# 2. Mary b. 1839 MO
Robert b. 1855 TX
William b.1859 TX
Eliza b. 1865 TX m. Marion Savage
Samuel b. 1866 TX
James b. 1869
Tennessee b. 1873 m. Benjamin S. Lowe
Salestia b. 1875
Julia Ida b. 1881

It was stated that Spruce was killed by Indians and that was why Julia never claimed her Indian heritage. She was said to have been born in a covered wagon enroute to Caddo Indian Territory. Does anyone know when/where Spruce died? or have information on Savage/Lowe families?
