Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

I AM NOT SURE THAT THIS WILL HELP BUT YOUR GRANDFATHER MAY BE FOUND BY INPUTTING "1ST FRONTIER, TEXAS". IF HIS NAME IS LISTED YOU MIGHT CONTACT THE "TEXAS STATE LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES COMMISSION" FOR A COPY OF HIS PENSION AND OTHER PAPERS ON RECORD. "http://www.tsl.state.tx.us. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY GGRANDFATHER'S PENSION APPLICATION AND RELATED DOCUMENTS FROM THERE.THEY WILL SEND IT TO YOU ALONG WITH A BILL FOR THE COST OF THE DOCUMENTS.I AM TRYING TO TRACE MY INDIAN HERITAGE THROUGH MY GGRANDFATHER.GOOD LUCK. MARJORIE
