William Franklin "Frank" FINLEY

Hello Finley/Fenley kin,

Uncle Frank FINLEY was the younger brother of my grandfather Charles Alexander FENLEY (Sabine, Angelina, Nacogdoches, Tyler, and Polk Counties in Texas). They were the oldest sons of Benjamin Norris FENLEY and Martha McMillan Fenley. The 1850 Choctaw County, Alabama Census lists Benjamin Norris FENLEY and Martha McMillan FENLEY along with Grandpa, Uncle Frank, and their baby brother
Benjamin. By 1860 the family had relocated to Tyler County, Texas.

In the past, I have met and/or corresponded with several of Uncle Frank's family
(daughter Martha, daughter-in-law Mary, and grandson John Finley), but I have lost
touch with them. I am interested in getting re-acquainted with any of my Fenley/ Finley
kin in Parker and Wise Counties, especially in the Springrown area. Please email me if
you are willing to tell me about my kinfolks in that area. I look forward to hearing from
you.

John Finley told me about cleaning a grave in a cemetery somewhere not far from the
Springtown area for years before he found out that it was the grave of Uncle Frank's
grandmother (Benjamin Norris' mother Elizabeth Woodward FINLEY, wife of Charles
H. FINLEY). I remember John saying he thought it was just a courtesy to clean the grave of someone who had no family to take care of it. I think this grave was in Alvarado, Texas, but I don't know where that is, so I don't know how accurate that idea is. Perhaps Elizabeth remarried after Charles H. died so that she had a name other than F(e/i)nley? Can anyone clear up my confusion about this?

I am looking forward to corresponding with any of you who are willing. Thanks,
cousins!

Sincerely,
Jeanette FENLEY Moore

P.S. My father was James Emmett FENLEY, youngest son of Charles Alexander.
Uncle Frank came to visit Daddy and Mama when they were young marrieds in the '20's. My mother loved him. I know Mary and Martha often corresponded with my dad's younger sister Sarah Evalina "Lena" Fenley Beasley Johns. Aunt Lena's husband Will Johns had a niece in the Longview/Tyler whose grandfather or great-grandfather may have been Benjamin, Grandpa's and Uncle Frank's brother. This maybe-niece wrote me wanting information some years ago, but I have lost her address and no
longer know how to find her. Can any of you help me here?
