Need Some Help from Old Home Experts

My great-great grandfather James M. Taylor moved from Palo Pinto County to Parker County in 1861. He and his family remained there until at least the late 1880s. I am trying to locate the tracts he bought and to see if any house on his old Ball's Addition homeplace might still exist from his time, or any of his other homes. He was a well known blacksmith, having his shop just south of the square in Weatherford for many years. I am coming to Weatherford around Sept. 21st for a few days and would like very much to find someone who could show me possible property sites. I have some info from tax records and deeds but of course am hampered by the destruction of records in the court house fire. Any names of experts would be most appreciated. Thanks. Al Hester, Athens, GA
