Dear Debbie:

Thank you so much for answering my query. I am trying to locate the Eugene Newton Davis descendants. He lived in Whitt, Texas and worked for the railroad. He was probably in the 1900 Census and the 1910 Census for Parker Co. Texas. He worked for the railroad.
He was married twice, first to Louisa(Louesa) Switzer by whom he had three children: John H. b. 1873, KY, Joseph N. born 1876, KY and who may have been living in Parker Co. Texas in 1900 and working of the railroad as a mail clerk, and Ellen V. Davis, b. 1880 KY, d. 1927, Ark, who married Lee Burkhart in 1898 in Paducah, KY. By 1904, Eugene Newton Davis was living in Parker Co. Texas and he had married again to a Lucinda ________Tatum who was probably a widow and by her he had five children:
1) Edward Davis, b. 1903, TX, d. 1986, 2) Charles (Charley) Davis, b. about 1905, 3) Allie Mae Davis, b. 2/23/1907, d. 5/19/1970, m. James Gilmore, Sr., 4)Eugene Wesley Davis,b. 9/19/1909, d. 12/13/1964, m. Mildred Eubanks, 5) Mary Davis, b. 1912, Texas m. Bobby Stephens and she died in the 1980's. All of the children of the second family were born in Texas. The second family lived in Whitt, Texas. Eugene Newton Davis worked for the railroad.

Debbie, could you check the census records for me and see what you find out? I do so much appreciate any help or advice that you could give me in locating any descendants of Eugene Newton Davis. It is possible that Joseph N. Davis and John H. Davis, the sons of his first marriage were also living in Texas, and had possibly moved with their father when he moved to Texas. It is possible that there are still some descendants of his living in Parker Co. today. Again, thank you very much for any help or advice that you might be able to give me. Charlotte G. Boykin
