I would like to compare notes with the descendents of the three Holloway brothers who settled in Shelby and Panola Counties Texas. Internet sources indicate they came to Texas after the Civil War with their father, William James Holloway (19 Jun 1826-29 Apr 1887). The father died in Rusk Co. TX. The brothers were: 1. James Dudley Holloway, b. 11 May 1870 and d. 16 Feb 1962. He died in Center,Shelby Co. TX and is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. 2.Oscar Joseph Holloway, b.20 Jul 1883 and d. 4 Mar 1957. He died in Carthage, Panola Co., TX. and is buried in Tennessee Cemetery, Shelby Co. TX. 3. Charles Hubbard Holloway, b. 3 Feb 1887 and d. 6 Dec 1917 in Gary, Panola Co. TX. He is buried in Gary, TX, but the name of the cemetery is not given. All the information on the three brothers comes from their respective death certificates.
The above Holloway family came from Madison Co. AL and my Holloway family came from Jackson Co. AL. The two counties share a long common border and I am trying to connect the two families.
