HOLLAND and DICKERSON 1850

Hi,

I am interested in the William HOLLAND listed on the 1850 federal census in Panola County. I'm having trouble reading the census online - does it say he is 8 years of age? Or am I reading it wrong? If not how old was he and who was the other HOLLAND next to him?

I have been searching for a very long time for my gg-grandfather William T. (WT) HOLLAND and spouse Susan A. "unknown" and cannot find them on any records before 1864. I do believe that he may have been in Shelby Co (or Panola before Shelby was formed).

I also noted that he lived next door to the DICKERSON family. WT HOLLAND's son, Mitchel G. Holland first married a Mary A. DICKERSON in 1897 - this seems to fit my "brick wall" puzzle. Not to mention that there was also a DAVIS family nearby that (may have been the ones that) eventually married into the family.

Absolutely any help, comments, or ideas on these individuals is extremely welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Michelle
