Tom, am I correct in assuming that the Frances Reed who m. John Morris was the dau. of Nathan Reed, b. 1763 Guilford Co., NC, d. 1846 Perry Co., AL, son of Nathaniel Reed, b. ca. 1720. If this is the right Frances Reed, I was not aware that she had m. John Morris, as a matter of fact I have no marriage data on her. I thought you might have been referring to Frances Reed, dau. of Wm. Reed, Sr and Frances Robins; this Wm.Reed, b. 1756 was also a son of Nathaniel Reed, b. ca. 1720.

I am not familiar with the work of Gloria Mayfield; has it been published in book form?

I am very interested in all of those Reeds that came out of Upper South Carolina into GA, AL, and points West. The Morris name intrigues me because I am still trying to clarify if John Reed, b. 1762, who m. Nancy Morris, dau. of Drury Morris, was also a son of Nathaniel Reed, b. ca. 1720.

Looks as if you're going to be able to help me more than I can help you!

Look forward to hearing from you. KRB
