Wells family

My paternal grandmother was Velma Leona Wells, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Wells, Jr., son of Thomas Jefferson Wells, Sr., son of George Washington Wells.

George and Thomas, Sr. moved to the DeSoto Parish/Panola County area sometime before 1870 when they are found on the 1870 DeSoto Parish census. In 1880, Thomas, Sr. is on the Panola County, Texas census, but his father George and mother, Mary, are nowhere to be found. However, Mary's mother, Lucretia Butler, is living with her grandson, J.M. Wells in DeSoto Parish in 1880.

Would like information on any members of this family and their descendants. George and Mary Wells had children: Thomas Jefferson, Sr.; J.M. (Butler?) who married Francis (Fannie) Matheny; Lucretia; G.V. (F) who married Henry D. Scott; N.J. (F); F.T. (F); and Sweety (F).

My grandmother and several of her siblings were born in Panola County, but they later moved back to DeSoto Parish.

My email is tngreenwood2002@yahoo.com. Thanks.
