Hookers Ferry

anyone familiar with a place called Hookers Ferry? That could have possibly been in Panola County Texas? My relative, Levi Washington Leech, delivered to the yankee government in august of 1865, 504 bales of cotton at a place called "Hookers Ferry, TX". Since he lived in and around Carthage, could it have been close to that town?
