Not related but may be able to help you some.

First of all, I believe people came from all around to Mineral Wells because of health reasons. The waters there had minerals in them that were believed to cure ills.

Your family is on the 1900 Terrebone Parish LA census. NL is there with wife Minnie and several children. Hamilton and Norman b TN, the other 3 b AR. His occ is a merchant. On the 1880 Shelby Co TN census, he is a salesman.

There is a death certificate for NL Avery in Palo Pinto for 1907. Go to http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#Towards the bottom of the pg on the left is the TX Deaths 1890-1976. That is where you will find him under NL Avery.

Someone is working this line and states they married
Nov 7 1875 in Memphis Shelby Co TN. You would have to write to the archives in Nashville TN to get a copy of the marriage.

Good luck,
Rayedene Seal Graves
