BOY WHO DROWN IN VIDOR

Does anyone know who a boy was that drown in Vidor in the late fifties? It was at the place then called the Blue Hole. I was very young but I think it was around highway 12, I 10 and railroad. In between those highway and roads. My family had went swimming there and when we got there a young boy was trying to find his friend that had drown. My da, Lewis Cherry helped in the search. We were still there when his body was brought up. I will never forget this event in my life and have wondered many times what this young person's name was. I will appreciate any help I can get. I have found a picture of Gerald Beard in an early Vidor annual with "in Rememberance of..." over it. Could this be the same person?? Thank you, Debbie
