I grew up in Vidor and some 30 years ago when I was in Boys Scouts, I had to do some research on the naming of our town.At that time the city had a brochure that claimed it was named after movie producer King Vidor. The property next to my parent's house was owned by Miller-Vidor Lumber. I have heard King Vidor was an investor. Not sure about that part though.
