Sarah & Lucy are the children of John and Flora Matilda Smith who lived on Water Street in Corpus Christi, TX. Older siblings are listed in the 1850 census under Maltilda Smith. The oldest sibling Percy is my great-grandmother. I believe John Smith was in the military or worked with the military as he was not home for court proceeding when their home was sold for failure to pay property taxes in 1849, likewise, he was not at home for enumerations in 1850 and 1860.
From 1872 through 1875 the property tax payment entries were listed under Flora Smith Estate or Heirs of Flora Smith. No further entries appeared after 1875. I could not find any deeds showing the sale of the property.
