Not sure where the Partee comes in, but on the 1920 census John's "father-in-law" W. Matt Forbus in the household which should mean he's the father of John's wife. I went looking for anyone dying in TX with parents named Green and Forbus.

TX Dth Idx thru 1976:

Name: Annie Bell Eberley
Death Date: 19 Apr 1970
Death Place: Big Spring, Howard, Texas
Gender: Female
Race:
Death Age: 71 years 5 months 1 day
Estimated Birth Date: 1899
Birth Date:
Birthplace:
Marital Status:
Spouse's Name:
Father's Name: John M. Greene
Father's Birthplace:
Mother's Name: Ida Luela Forbus
Mother's Birthplace:
Occupation:
Place of Residence:
Cemetery:
Burial Place:
Burial Date:
Additional Relatives:

Digital Film Number: 4168911

Reference Number: 35665

1880 census Heard Co, GA:

Forbus, William, 23, md, b GA, SC, SC
" Parthena, 23, md, b GA, GA, GA
" Ida Lue, 5, b GA
" William, 4, b GA
" James E., 1, b GA
Zachry, Mallisee, 24, servant, sgle, b GA, GA, GA
" Jeff F., 2/12, b Dec in GA, "son of servant"

A few pages away is a Forbus couple named Zachariah, 65, and Agy[sic] 50, both born in SC, probably his parents. Several families in the county named Forbus.

Now on Rootsweb's WorldConnect someone has posted a John Green with wife named Ida Bell Partee, but they were married in "1933" waaay too late for your couple.

Also, on WorldConnect someone has post information on Zachariah and Agnes, with some data. You might want to get in touch with that person as they don't show any of William's children, and they question if William is the son of Zachariah.

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi -- I entered Forbus, William b Georgia, 1857 + or - five years.

On Find a Grave site both William and Parthenia are listed in the Norton Cemetery in Runnels Co, TX.

TX Dth Idx thru 1976:

Did a little more searching and I think I've found the father of William Forbus, also named William.

1860 census Heard Co, GA:

Forbus, William, 38, b SC
" Elizabeth, 34, b GA
" William M., 9, b GA *******
" Parthenea A., 7, b GA
" Andrew J., 5, b GA
" David A., 4, b GA
" Mary E., 1, b GA

I don't see the elder William on the 1870 census, do you suppose he died in the Civil War? There is a William Forbus listed as Confederate from Georgia on Civil War site. That might account for your William showing up in the household of Zachariah on the 1870 census. He's listed out of birth order making one wonder if William was the son of Zachariah, looks like he's the son of William. You could share this informaion with the submitter to the WorldConnect site. Sharing often brings things to the surface.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
