Tanner Cemetery is a well kept cemetery just off SH 63 and FM 1414 in Burkeville, Newton County, Texas. There is a Tanner Cemetery Association and the Historical Marker for the cemetery is online at http://txnetwork.net/hmarkers

There are a few families of Tanners left in Burkeville and one in Jasper County of which I am aware, however there are apparently quite a few descendants around Burkeville.

The Newton County Historical Commission has a wealth of information on local resources. If possible, you should plant to visit there.

Good luck,
Sue Owens
