Found Jesse Trammel in 1870 census of Newton Co TX. He was 50 yrs old and had been born in NC. His wife Margaret M. _?_ was 50 years old and had been born in SC. They had the following children: Josephine b 1845 SC, Mary A. b 1846 SC, Nancy I. b 1848 SC, Margaret F b 1849 LA, Jesse J b 1851 LA, Savanna b 1855 LA, Washington b 1856 LA, Jordan 1858 LA, Jefferson b 1861 LA, and Harrison B. b 1864 LA.
Josephine, my gg grandmother, married John Richard Moore on 12/27/1870 in Newton Co TX. They had the following known children: Mary Ella b 1871 TX [my g grandmother], Olive V b 1873 TX, Sarah E. b 1876 TX, Margaret M. b 1877 TX, and Addie b 1880 TX. At some time they settled in Jones Co. TX, in or around Avoca. Josephine died 4/5/1924 and was buried next to her husband who had died in 1915. Both are buried at Spring Creek Cemetery in Jones Co. TX
Their daughter, Mary Ella, married William Bragg Griffith in Jones Co TX on 12/19/1888. Mary Ella died 7/18/1914 and is also buried in in Spring Creek Cemetery. Mary Ella and William Bragg Griffith's children were; Jesse Earl, Minnie Olive [my grandmother], John William [Bill], Winifred [Winnie], and Lou Ella.
Would love to find info on Josephine and John Richard's other children and the other children of Jesse and Margaret Trammel.
