Did you find your grandfather Abson Nolan? I believe I recognize him as a descendant of the northern Louisiana Wise family of James Wise and Permilia Miller, through James's and Permelia's daughter. I know this daughter as Obedience Lettie "Abedia" or "Bedi" Wise, and her husband as Absolam Simeon "Sim" Nolen. In the files I saw, Bedi's descendants have Abson S. Nolan, died 6 Mar 1929 in Woodvale, Texas as a grandchild of Bedi and Sim. There is no Woodvale, Texas, but there is a Woodville, Tyler County, Texas. Abson Simual Nolen (sp) was living in Tyler County, Texas when he registered for the World War I draft. His Texas death certificate seems to be the one for Abson S. Nolan, died 6 Mar 1927, Newton County, Texas, certificate 10168. If you don't have this information already, you'll need to get in touch with one of the genealogy-loving descendants of Obedience Wise Nolen to confirm it; I descend from a different child of James Wise and Permilia Miller and am not very knowledgeable. Hope this helps.
