I just read your post in responce to my e-mail. Your information is correct. James Toten was my ggfather. One of his sons was my mother's father. His name was James D. Toten. I remember my dad saying the other brothers names were. Jennings and Rufus. As a child I seem to remember one of them had a wooden leg. Also I have a photo of the Toten family. It belonged to my mothers, mother. On the back of the photo it days, "All of us but Callie.

My Mother always said she was born at Brushie Praire. Fifteen years ago, visting my cousin in Purdon, She took me to Brushie Praire.
Thanks for your reply. LR
