Mary, thanks for your help and direction to Ruth Stephens posting. I can not qualify the dob or location in Louisiana as Minden, Webster, LA in 1858. I have a copy of my George Washington Hodges death certificate in Texas and it states his dob as May 10, 1848 in Louisiana. I have searched and searched Louisiana records for my George with the marriage to Julie Ann Elliott and parents as Charley Hodges and Mary Malinda Cromwell without any luck. I've even had Louisiana based researchers who didn't find my George. The Minden, Webster, LA information and date of 1858 is for a George Washington Hodges but not my George. The Minden George married someone else and died much earlier than 1944 in Texas.

I tried to contact Ruth Stephens without any luck. Her posted email address is not active it seems.

I would like to get in touch with her to see if she can qualify her posted information.

Again, thanks for your direction and help.

Shelia W.
